I’m thrilled to share about our Young Women In Bio Science Fashion show at the Barrio Logan Science & Art Expo!

I was extremely honored to showcase my science fashion line created from real microscopy images and science drawings, especially with the amazing opportunity to highlight the diversity of women in STEM across different career paths and backgrounds. All our models were real scientists or students, plus our very special guest Jamie of the band Earthside, who composed the music for our science video game Microscopya.

This fashion show was a joint effort, and wouldn’t have been possible without the amazing volunteers from Young Women In Bio – So Cal! Special thanks to our fashion show moderators, Kristina Herbert and Debra Hammill, our models Carla Uranga and daughter Camila, Judy Hsia, Monika Ramos, Shreya Sawant, Edna Patricia Hernandez and daughters Ximena and Alexa, Amanda Brambila, Anna Nikolenko, Kelly Hu, Matthew Cooney, and Jamie van Dyck, as well as our booth volunteers. Thank you so much Beto Vasquez and CREATE at UC San Diego for this wonderful opportunity!
